THE HOUSE OF ZAN — Zan
“You don’t want to be in love. You want to be in love in a movie.”
— Sleepless in Seattle
A finished identity would simplify life.
Past mistakes could become lessons.
Old desires could stay old.
Every boundary would hold.
Experience is supposed to clarify the picture.
Who am I.
What do I want.
Which mistake will I refuse to repeat.
Then another experience refuses to fit the picture.
A certainty fails.
A former need disappears.
Something once dismissed starts making sense.
The earlier conclusion was not necessarily false.
It belonged to the person who reached it.
Learning made them different.
What felt true can stop fitting without turning into a lie.
Understanding yourself better does not make you complete.
It may only keep the next change from being mistaken for failure.
Maybe becoming yourself is why no finished version stays true.
