Those words may feel freeing.
Then they mean them.
Their body, safety, or confidence begins to depend on what happens next.
Power has gained a consequence.
Each decision now carries more than desire.
It can change what someone believes about themselves afterward.
Trust does not erase their will.
It creates a reason to protect it.
The more another person surrenders, the less room remains for carelessness.
Control may expand what someone is allowed to do.
Responsibility narrows what they should be willing to risk.
The gift is access.
The cost is giving up the right to treat it as entitlement.
